WHAT IS THE FRANCIACORTA FESTIVAL?

The Festival is one of the most important events in the Franciacorta wine-making area, it takes place at the end of the summer season after the harvest.
This year it will be held on September 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

During those two weekends, you will be able to enjoy a lot of activities organized by wineries, sports associations, and by the Franciacorta Consortium; here below you can find examples of the events available only on the occasion of the Festival Franciacorta, where Franciacorta sparkling wine and territory have a leading role.

The Franciacorta Consortium-associated wineries open their doors for visits and wine tasting , moreover, they organize unique events in the cellars such as:
– walking in the vineyards with the oenologist to discover plant diversity and processing methods;
– aperitif in the vineyards;
– vintage wine tasting;
– “à la volèe” disgorging;

The wineries also offer perfect special pairings of Franciacorta wines and traditional local dishes like the “spiedo” of Gussago (a product with “local denomination”), fish of the Lake Iseo, the typical salami and cheese of Brescia Province selected among the top quality producers. Other companies, instead offer unconventional food pairings like pizza or hamburger gourmet.

For the most sporty guests, local associations organize panoramic mountain bike itineraries along secondary roads to discover the real Franciacorta (in the woods of Calino or on Monte Orfano) or hiking sessions with nordic walking technique.

For the foodies, local restaurants prepare a special menu meant to celebrate the excellences of the territory and their pairing with bubbles.
